چکیده

The exchange coupling between a hard magnetic layer MnBi and soft Co-Fe has been found to significantly improve the maximum energy product. In this work, spin structure of exchange-coupled MnBi:Co-Fe bilayers is experimentally investigated by X-ray circular dichroism (XMCD) polarized neutron reflectometry (PNR). We find that out-of-plane magnetization reversal process bilayer involves formation curling-type twisting in film plane at low or intermediate fields. Micromagnetic simulations are further performed provide detailed view spins curling center. Reminiscent chiral structures known as bobbers, hard-soft new type skyrmionic worth investigation.

Dynamic exchange coupling in magnetic bilayers.

A long-range dynamic interaction between ferromagnetic films separated by normal-metal spacers is reported, which is communicated by nonequilibrium spin currents. It is measured by ferromagnetic resonance and explained by an adiabatic spin-pump theory. In such a resonance the spin-pump mechanism of spatially separated magnetic moments leads to an appreciable increase in the resonant linewidth w...

Mapping motion of antiferromagnetic interfacial uncompensated magnetic moment in exchange-biased bilayers

In this work, disordered-IrMn3/insulating-Y3Fe5O12 exchange-biased bilayers are studied. The behavior of the net magnetic moment ΔmAFM in the antiferromagnet is directly probed by anomalous and planar Hall effects, and anisotropic magnetoresistance. The ΔmAFM is proved to come from the interfacial uncompensated magnetic moment. We demonstrate that the exchange bias and rotational hysteresis los...

Chirality from interfacial spin-orbit coupling effects in magnetic bilayers.

As nanomagnetic devices scale to smaller sizes, spin-orbit coupling due to the broken structural inversion symmetry at interfaces becomes increasingly important. Here, we study interfacial spin-orbit coupling effects in magnetic bilayers using a simple Rashba model. The spin-orbit coupling introduces chirality into the behavior of the electrons and through them into the energetics of the magnet...

Magnetic Yoking and Tunable Interactions in FePt-Based Hard/Soft Bilayers

Magnetic interactions in magnetic nanostructures are critical to nanomagnetic and spintronic explorations. Here we demonstrate an extremely sensitive magnetic yoking effect and tunable interactions in FePt based hard/soft bilayers mediated by the soft layer. Below the exchange length, a thin soft layer strongly exchange couples to the perpendicular moments of the hard layer; above the exchange ...
